Leadership Team

Fenland Upper Room leadership team strive to support the vision of Fenland Upper Room and advanced the kingdom of God across the Fens.

Pastor Matt Rayner

I became a Christian at the age of 13 after a dramatic encounter with God and was called to ministry in my early teens. After serving in various youth leadership and stewarding roles, I felt led to join the military which saw me in active service in Afghanistan, Iraq, Cyprus, and Northern Ireland.

I am passionate about sharing the gospel message and discipling people so that they can carry the flame across the Fens and beyond. I believe in ‘all-person’ ministry, and that we are all called to serve Jesus.

Pastor Jo Rayner

I was bought up in a Christian family, and made my own commitment to follow Jesus when I was a child. I was baptised at 18 and have served as an Elder in previous ministries for over 12 years, including heading up the youth team and safeguarding.

I am keen to pastor and support those on the fringes, providing a space for everyone to encounter the amazing love of Jesus.

Elder Peter Conley

From a very young age I was brought up with a Christian faith. I didn’t understand much apart from God was the creator of all things in heaven and earth and that Mary and Joseph were the parents of Jesus by a miracle given from the Heavenly Father our God.

When I was a teenager, I was taken by my friend’s parents, Joan and Henry, with their family Jonathan and Ruth to a Billy Graham gathering, where I made a commitment to follow Jesus. They ran a home group in their home which I sometimes attended in the 1970s. I lost track of these people because they moved away, and I lost track of Church life. I still believed in Jesus Christ! Then in 1990 I found the Lord back in my life, with my wife Julie and her mum, up to this present time. Living in March Cambridgeshire, Julie and I have been involved with about 3 long term Churches, being very blessed in all of them. Serving the Churches and people undertaking various roles and duties and having the privilege and pleasure serving as Hospitality Deacons and Home Group Leaders at one time, also serving in a music ministry with Praise and Worship. We have been so blessed by incredible teaching and training sessions till now.

We are now being led by the Holy Spirit to be living and working in our community in the Fenland. We both thank you Lord, for the impact we have been able to make March Town and surrounding area, using our giftings and blessings, we are able to share with people, the Grace and Love of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen
